China says high-level commerce talks with US have resumed


BEIJING — China’s Commerce Ministry says high-level commerce talks between Beijing and Washington have resumed.

A ministry spokesman, Gao Feng, mentioned Thursday the 2 sides are “sustaining shut contact” following a Nov. 1 cellphone name between President Xi Jinping and President Donald Trump.

The 2 sides have raised tariffs on billions of {dollars} of one another’s items in a dispute over Beijing’s expertise coverage.
